All I have done is a beginners class about 1 year back. So, I need to learn skiing and have some fun for the weekend. Which place do I go to? Wintergreen or Snowshoe?

Both Wintergreen and Snowshoe have beginner slopes and classes. Wintergreen is smaller and closer. I think Snowshoe is fun but maybe too far to go for just a weekend. A 3 day weekend maybe (at least if you are in Raleigh).

just go to one of the crappy NC slopes to learn and then spend the money to go up to snowshoe or wintergreen after you get better.

when you fall make sure you stay right where you happen to fall and lay there for a minimum of 2 minutes each time.

and while you're waiting for the other people you're with make sure you congregate in the middle of a trail crossing so people who want to keep going have to squeeze by you and try not to run into you

go to app, learn... then move it to a real hill. You will regret goin to snowshoe and have good skiiers made you look dumb and piss them off by falling all the time.

i dunno about that. i went snowboarding for the 2nd time this year (3-4th time ever) and the booze allowed me to make some poor decisions. now my ribs feel bruised after a bad fall followed by a 20ft slide. it was funny though.

bring your ice skates if youre going anywhere south of snowshoe.

even snowshoe has ice. but you gotta do what you gotta do. unless you have $$$ to fly or time to drive somewhere. but DO bring your ice skates if you go to app ski mtn because there is a skating rink!!

there was a bit of ice on some of the slopes at snowshoe this past week

i dont think i would have fallen if it werent for the ice
