i bought a cheapo no-name IrDA USB adapter a few years back to sync files between my computer and my old nokia phone...i'd like to use it with a remote control so i can (obviously) control stuff on my PC, but i'm having some issues finding software to do this...i've stumbled across WinLIRC, but apparently that's only for serial adapters...am i missing something? it seems like it'd be a pretty common thing, but i'm not finding much on it

suggestions?

eh just plug it in and see what it installs

it will tell you if it found a new serial device or not
