I pretty much have no respect for anyone that could be involved with "crank dat" so really lil wayne doesn't stand a chance against most artists, in my mind.

this thread is stupid.

who's better lebron james or some random semi-decent ball player?

weezy has him killed. i dont know what fucking lupe you've been listening to that makes you think he is anywhere wayne's lyricism.

not that i like wayne that much, but when you do 400 songs a year, a good percentage of them have to be decent

seriously, hook me up with whatever you're smoking.

I think Lupe has great lyricism on his new cd. "Dumb it Down", "Gotta Eat", "Streets on Fire" are just a few of many that have superb lyrics. I like them both but Lupe is much better imo.

were comparing two different genres completely, hip-hop and rap. lupe is a backpacker and wayne is a rapper.

but wayne is a beast. lupe puts out a cd with a few decent songs on it and now he's better? thats garbage. have you listened to any mixtape this year? or anyone else's cds? wayne has been throwing it down. I hate to use this song, but We Takin' Over is a prime example of wayne's lyricism.

more exaples?
Touch it or Not (cam ft. wayne)
Make it Rain remix (joe ft. wayne)
9mm (david banner ft. wayne)
brown paper bag (dj khaled ft. wayne)

and i know, wayne is more motivated to rhyme when he's a guest. but try a few of his mixtapes.

the entire Drought 3 mixtape

Lupe's not as dope as people would like you to believe and Wayne's not as bad as people would like you to believe.

lol you dickheads

lupe is a lyricist
wayne is a dope rapper that comes with some off the wall (didn't say creative, neccessarily)

but they're pretty much apples and oranges cause they appeal to two completely different types of fans,

apples and oranges, so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to say "better"..

but looking at the sheer volume of quality lyricism put out by Wayne... if forced to choose, i'd go with Wayne

i agree for the most part, ut i feel they are not comparable two different styles of rap and approaches to lyricism

that beign said, i dont find lupe apealing because hes not really offerign anything new, plus i am naturally inclined towards mixtape freestyle beasts i like raw lyrics shit that just makes me laugh and hit the rewind button....however i can not listen to his album stuff i dont liek it

kinda like lil flip, i LOVE his freestyles, his screwtape stuff but i cant do not enjoy listening to him in normal speed LP tracks

First, I couldn't quote you very many lyrics, but it bothers me when lil wayne raps about being a pusher and coming up on the streets. Wasn't he rich and part of all the cash money records nonsense by the time he was like 15?

I've always said that ^ but he'll tell you he would take product from his step-dad and would sell it for small money when he was just little one and even in the beginning of his recording career because his mom had all his money

I'm a Lil wayne fan but I'll admit he's probably the fakest gangsta in the game. in his defense, he'll tell you straight up he's not really down to fight and doesn't sell.

I'm starting to feel that Wayne is suffering what I'll call the "jay z effect"...he's become so popular that it just isn't cool to like him. the backlash. (I shouldnt compare their success considering jigga has record sales, classics and wayne only has one or two good LPs.

march 18, carter 3: any chance we aren't disappointed? After the last few years, beginning with the prefix and Suffix, the carters the droughts, dedications and all of guest spots. We are all waiting for the carter 3. The shit that was leaked a few months ago was pretty good, but not quite classic material.

I'm actually more excited to hear the dedication 3 because I think he'll just try too hard on the carter 3

But all this Lil Wayne and lyricism? Not trying to hate but do you guys listen to music or just skim through it? Lets be serious...Wayne says some hot shit sometimes...but dude gets away with saying some crazy shit all the time. I actually like Weezy a lil more than I used to but his fans make me not take him serious. I actually like Lupe better right now.

I don't really understand what you mean about Wayne saying crazy shit....but I agree that Wayne fans are annoying. But the fact he's got so many people on his dick for a couple years now says something. Not sure what though
