2 cans of black eyed peas (drained) 1 can of corn (drained) 1 can of rotell tomatoes and green chilis (drained) Italian dressing diced onions/hot sauce/peppers (optional)

Ok, this is the right way:
Black eyed peas = coins collards = green money (bills) pork = good luck (or health to some)

The way its supposed to be
From Wiki:
Quote : | "The traditional meal also features collard or mustard greens or cabbage. This is supposed to bring good luck and financial enrichment. The peas stand for coins, the greens symbolize paper money. Cornbread also often accompanies this meal.

^^Its pretty pathetic that you edit a Wiki page because you got OWNED on TWW.
You might as well go ahead and remove the paper money reference then, because its obvious you edited it by leaving that part in.

The tiny legumes, which arrived on ships carrying slaves from Africa, often find their way into a good-luck dish called hoppin' John, a hearty mixture of black-eyed peas, rice, and salt pork or bacon. I'm serious, make this salsa:
Quote : | "2 cans of black eyed peas (drained) 1 can of corn (drained) 1 can of rotell tomatoes and green chilis (drained) Italian dressing diced onions/hot sauce/peppers (optional)" |
And you will never say you don't like black eyed peas again. Out of the dozens of people that have tried this when I or my brother have made it, only like 2 haven't liked it.
