"In addition to its wake-promoting effects and ability to increase locomotor activity in animals, modafinil produces psychoactive and euphoric effects,
alterations in mood, perception, thinking, and feelings typical of other CNS stimulants in humans. Modafinil has reinforcing properties, as evidenced
by its self-administration in monkeys previously trained to self-administer cocaine
. Modafinil was also partially discriminated as stimulant-like."

^rofl (that's from the prescribing info - yes i read all 4 pages, i'm a medical nerd )

this shit is AMAZING

i haven't been able to concentrate this much since... well, i don't remember when. i felt like working today, and got more done than i normally would in like a week. AND i don't feel jittery or anxious or anything else like you'd get w/ adderall or other amphetamines. AAAAND it's almost midnight and i feel as if i could go to sleep despite taking this medication... wtfff? awesome.

yay for normal functioning and absense of daytime sleepiness

if there is such a thing as a wonder drug, i think this is it

adderall definitely made it so i couldn't go to sleep for like a couple hours at night

and i was really nervous during the day

but with the provigil i feel as alert and able to concentrate (if not moreso) than i did while on adderall without the bad effects of amphetamines

haha, i think pill-poppers like you are why people are concerned about this drug being widely available

i ain't no pill popper

if you knew how tired i was during the day then you'd understand

in that sleep study, in the 8 hours of "sleep" i had, i slept for like an hour

and in the latency test the next morning i fell asleep within 10 minutes all 4 times

i couldn't concentrate at work, i was falling asleep whenever i could, my grades suffered, etc.

so you have no idea how happy having this drug makes me

for cereal

Provigil is still a control substance and can be addictive, but to each his own.

provigil is a schedule IV drug, therefore it is not really dangerous

(B) The drug or other substance has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.

Other schedule 4's include...

Xanax, Stadol, Chloral hydrate, Klonopin, Darvocet, Valium, Ativan, Restoril, Halcion, Sonata, and Ambien. I've seen lots of crazies at the pharmacy raising hell when they can't get these meds. Just saying be careful.

Similar published case reports suggest that modafinil might also be useful in the treatment of amphetamine addiction.

believe me

me too

i often see people on xanax/ativan/klonopin freak out.. i mean, not every shift, but i still see it

i'd like to think us medical professions have the sense enough to not get addicted to these sorts of meds
