The look of contempt from McCain when Ron Paul was talking about 10 minutes ago was great.

Thompson came across as a grumpy old man imo. He lost me completely when he even uttered the notion of opening up oil reserves (including the Alaskan Wildlife Refuge).

I think he was referring to the strategic oil reserves.

Why doesn't he give up, I hear he really doesn't give a shit if he wins anyway.

Wow ... I thought mccain looks silly there, laughing to himself as he gave weak jabs to romney ...

All this hypocritical talk of personal attack ads, and mccain shows his true colors, as expected, on national tv. Only difference between huckabee, mccain, and romney, is that Romney is actually respectful to people, and pays for his negative ads, while mccain and huckabee just utilize free air time to get out their negative ads.

^^^^Haha, what homer. Romney got jaw jacked and you still think he came out of that ok

I have to admit that edwards is doing the best in this debate. Everyone else has stilted and disorganized answers.

Yes, because obviously, paying despot dictators for their oil when we have plenty of our own is clearly the best startegy in this terrorism-ridden world.

Good plan.

not related to the debate, but you gotta love this Giuliani quote from yesterday:
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2008/01/03/2008-01-03_giuliani_positive_despite_weak_campaign.html

Quote :
"e flatlined in Iowa and he's struggling in New Hampshire, but Rudy Giuliani shook off the early-state blues Thursday as only he can.

Edwards has a snowballs chance in hell.....he will be third in NH, third in SC(Obama takes the blacks and the young, Hillary takes some of the whites and blacks and the old) that leaves Edwards with the angry white men.....

you should be pulling for Obama if you dont want Hillary, Edwards doesnt have a chance.

he got 30%, WOW(Hillary got 29%, he really creamed her!).....and Obama beat him when poor Edwards had been campaigning in the state for years for this election and he barily beat Clinton who was very late campaigning in the state. Even Obama hadnt been in Iowa all that much before this election...must of hurt.

All polls show it is almost tied or Obama is ahead in NH, and Edwards is still around 20%. He might of gain a point or two but he is still way behind brining up the rear. They angry populist has gotten old. With Obama in the picture, he has no chance in SC either, most likely another third something similiar to Ohio...where he can claim he "beat" Clinton....

rumor is if he does bad in SC he is drop out and support Obama.

This is after accusing Obama of changing his position on the war yet funding the war.

This is also MONTHS after sealing the records she had when she was the wife of President Clinton.

imo 3 of 11 wins this thread for me

Quote :

i was going down with who i wanted to quote...got the bottom one first, then got the top one and it was from the same person...i also agree that edwards doesnt have a snowballs chance, and i also agree that out of obama/clinton, he'd support obama first(which i hope he does)

i think the difference between obama and clinton is, clinton is like "i've went against the rightwing machine before" and obama is like "i want to work together to accomplish some shit"

and the "you are likeable enough" was awesome from obama

--------------------------------

i think once people really start focusing in on huckabee he goes way down, thompson never caught fire, romney didnt win iowa so i dont feel he does well in nh thus really hurting his chances come super tuesday...i'd say right now its mccain or guilliani with mccain in the lead cause hes more of a conservative than guilliani, and plus his thing was always "i'm the one that beats hillary"...well it might not even be her....imo, if obama/edwards get ~68% of the vote, and clinton is a big name only getting 30 percent, hopefully thats a sign that there are a lot that DONT want her and the dems are not dumb and pick her

Paul was the only one of the Republicans that really made any sense. The rest of them basically spent half their time arguing over the definition of amnesty. Thompson is worthless in my opinion, he has nothing to add to the race. Huckabee seemed more like the guy who was a second tier candidate before he won Iowa by courting religious nutcases. Giuliani actually made a couple reasonable comments that came across as more moderate than the rest of the guys, but he won't shut up about 9/11...seems like that's his only trick in the bag. I thought most of McCain's jabs at Romney were petty and made him look immature, someone I wouldn't want running this country. Romney fielded them well, held the high ground, but still comes across as a slick-willy type IMO. I think a few of his comments seemed a little cheesy (about how everyone on the stage agrees about this and that) but he seemed to come out the winner.

I think Obama had a weak showing, he seemed tired and a few of his answers didn't follow a good line of reasoning. Hillary came out very defensive, almost angry at times, but had an ok finish. I still don't think this helped her any. Poor Richardson, he has a lot of relevant experience and honestly I think if he was a white guy he'd be leading the race. He had a good showing but I think he realizes at this point there's no chance he will win, he's just trying to get as much face time as possible so he can ride on some coat tails. I think Edwards was the clear Dem winner, he was the only one who had any energy and stayed true to his message. He made a couple clean attacks against Hillary, nothing too petty, but also played nice with everyone while getting his points across clearly.

Having the Dems and Repubs back to back like that really makes it clear that all the Repubs seem to care about is hate against brown skinned people. Kill Arabs and kick out all the Mexicans. Oh and love for Jebus of course.

richardson has zero charisma... white, brown, yellow, or purple, there is no way that he is leading the race.
