Good to hear he is just an internship away from graduating. I wonder if "NFL player" would count for his internship credit so he can graduate (I believe he is a sports management major). He'll be missed as a key player on the D, but best of luck to him.

I really think he'd be a 2nd rounder had he stayed one more year. He probably would have been the best S in the ACC next year with Phillips leaving. But I guess it gives some of our younger guys a chance to play early. Might also change what we do with Brandon Barnes, might have to play him at S instead of trying him out at RB/WR.

^ eh Silva probably takes the best Safety in the ACC designation over Phillips, but he is gone too

Good luck Dajuan... you were a great Wolfpacker a extremely fun to watch

This loss hurts. Hopefully he'll run well and move up some. Always good to have guys going in the draft and get us some attention even on the down years.

I thought he was the best player on the team last year and I was more worried about losing him to the NFL draft than any of our seniors to graduation. He may not be a high pick, but he will find a team and make it in the league. He can play either safety position, special teams, and he's a good guy.

Good for him. Bad for us. He figured to be a baller next year. Hopefully Jimmal Simmons can step in and fill the void.

^^^ Whatever dude. He was always winning the best lifter awards during the Day of Champions at the beginning of the seasons he was here. Add to that the fact that he can run a sub 4.4 40 and he'll be money as a free safety somewhere. I agree with his assessment in that he'll definitely move up a round after he performs at the combine. I think this year was just the tip of the iceberg as far as his potential. That's why it sucks that he's leaving with a year of eligibility left.

Maybe I am too honest or what but I think this is a terrible move on his part. He would be the senior leader next year of a hopefully improved team that will be young. He could have risen to 2nd round pick possibly. Why go pro when you are going to be a 5th/6th round pick? This is Derek Morris all over.

The NFL scouts think he will be a fourth round selection, but if he performs well in the combine he could rise to the 3rd round, perhaps even late 2nd round. I'll admit that I am selfish and wish he came back, but it's not that bad of a move for him. He's already been in a car accident in high school that could have cost him his football career. Better to strike while the iron is hot and get paid than get possibly get hurt. Besides he's got his academics in order to graduate.

what? I can't hear you, the cops are too busy grabbing Tennessee football players in drug busts.
That is odd... I thought Tennessee players were more easily recognized by their drug busts.

There aren't really any awesome safeties entering the draft this year so this is probably a pretty smart move for him. Good luck DaJuan we will miss you

Well I guess Silva and the kid at Miami but I can't think of any others offhand

Morgan is the man, I hope he runs well also and gets top 3 rounds for financial purposes. If he had stayed next year he would have been top 2 rounds but why do that when we are going to possibly stink anyways? Make that money son. Also if anything he will be a great special teamer. remember the morgan wave 2 years ago on kickoffs?

First off, Derek Morris was a lazy piece of shit with a bad attitude and apparent grade problems. DaJuan is the opposite of Morris in terms of work ethic, personality, skill level, and overall passion for the game.

Second, DaJuan is set to graduate with one more "semester" of work....which wouldnt be hard to do. He can do an internship anywhere in the world.

Third, Morgan is versatile enough that he'll make a team no matter what. Same cant be said for Morris, TA, etc. He also doesn't have to be a high draft pick to have a great career. He WILL perform well in the combines, he will perform well in his interviews, and IMO he will go higher than the 4th round. I cant blame a kid with that much potential for leaving early when he's a fart away from earning his degree.

Fourth : He could return next year, blow out his knee, and that would be the end of that. I never fault guys for leaving when they know they'll get drafted in a respectable spot and live their dream. The problem I have is when a guy leaves, because he lets agents get in his head and tell him how great he is, ends up not getting drafted and is fucked. This doesn't seem to be the case.
