I am looking to buy a Dave Matthews live DVD (and possibly CD) but am undecided about which one I would like to get. I have been able to listen to live at red rocks, and live at folsom and enjoy both but have not been able to get much info on other live DVDs/Cds. Also, anyone know how the new live at piedmont park DVD is?

That having been said, my two favorites are probably still Live at Red Rocks and Listener Supported, both of which are pretty old. Haven't heard as much of the new stuff (such as the Piedmont Park DVD), so I can't help you there.

The Gorge DVD/CD package is by far the best if you're looking for a dvd and live cd. The new Piedmont Park DVD basically sucks.

the gorge cd/dvd is awesome.


dmb Live Trax vol. 6 at Fenway Park is another good one. Its new.

I have several other LiveTrax albums....

i mostly listen to their live stuff these days. Busted Stuff is still their newest studio album i believe. Its pretty good.

Central Park is good to watch, but I didn't really like the 5.1 audio mix too much. Vocals a bit too distant and flat sounding.

I've got somewhere between 120 and 140 live shows (all 1999 or earlier) in mp3 format on about 20 or so CD's. If the discs haven't corroded then I can probably get you any of those you would want. I'm sure i have a list somewhere. These are great for general listening so don't expect some hifi shit.

Live @ Chicago is a really different sound because it's an indoor venue. Also, it's the only album I know of with a live version of "The Maker", which is a phenomenal track. Also, my wife has the latest Tim & Dave, and I'm stuck on the Cornbread song.

I have heard an acoustic version of "The Maker" on some sort of trader-made 3 album acoustic collection. That song is fucking awesome, esp when it's dave and tim.

Yep. Like I said, I have about 140 live recordings and all are 1999 or earlier (except for one show from 2000 that was at Walnut Creek). I was still going to shows for a few years after that but the music was definitely on its way down... Dave was better when he was depressed and on drugs/alcohol. Between the Lillywhite Sessions and Everyday was basically when everything went to the shitter.

I could care less if people think they suck... the price of admission was worth it simply to hear Carter Beauford on the drums.

dave and tim live at radio city music hall is fantastic.

if you have blu-ray i'd highly recommend it.
