Live in the Brynes Gate apartment complex off of Gorman st, and how many people live around the Gorman, Western and Kent triangle......the reason I ask is because thats not really a great area, gang activity and what not. I am just curious why you would want to live there, is the rent really cheap?

I used to live on Greenleaf (between gorman and kent) never had any major problems...but then again we always had 3 dogs weighing a total of about 230 lbs patrolling the grounds....most of the neighbors were really nice anyway.

Rhynes Gate is the name of it.

and its actually pretty clean and worry free

I live in University Smokes, i mean Oaks

as long as you dont leave your car on the street parked overnight in the dark(be sure its under the light)
and never leave your car unlocked...you shuold be fine.

people walk down the street which is normal, just dont get caught up in it at night, and if you dont mind the occasional gunshots, then its no problem.

but RHYNES gate, is fine.

I lived at Rhyne's Gate for six months...no problems and never felt unsafe.

Now I live just off Kent, same deal.

Yeah I mean where I live there are never any major problems, but go over a few blocks and its like .

I know when my ex room mate worked up at Priscilla's some dude apparently came running up to that pizza hut one night with a gun shot wound. Must have had the entire Raleigh police force there in under 10 minutes. She did not stay working there for too long after that.

I always found it odd that COR declared all out war on student house parties years ago but a lot of way worse shit that goes on a mile or two from the more expensive homes in West Raleigh does not get any press.

I mean for fuck sakes they passed an ordinance banning parking on your own grass (specifically for Brent Road), but there are like 5 houses on Kent Road that have been boarded up forever. Tell me which one is more of an eye sore.

some things are easier to outlaw than others.

so they outlaw those things to make it look like they are taking action for the greater good.

i live in university oaks as well, we were last minute apartment hunting and a friend found this place for cheap, around $300/month or so

now i'm not quite sure, i don't feel like being stabbed coming back from a late work session

maybe if cops did their job and didn't sit around tryin to clock people speeding while jackin off in their cruisers, shit like this wouldn't happen as often.

My friend used to live on Greenleaf st and hated it.

He had like 1400 sq ft for $550 a month. But always heard gunshots at night.

Great so West Raleigh has a gang problem now.

He loves it. The only reason he could afford to move out there was he got some inheritance. He bough the land cash. Before that it was him his girlfriend and his GF's sister check to check in a three bedroom house.

I think this thread says a lot. I have lived in Raleigh long enough to have seen the city come down like a ton of bricks on the antics of students who live in this area. They threw such an exorbitant amount of resources at shutting down the Brent road party you would think the students were hardened criminals.

It seems like the area has issues now that are much more likely to lead to violent and property crimes. I wonder if that will generate an equally strong response.

I live in Rhynes Gate. Its fine I guess. The area behind on Carlton (there some little convienance store) is a little shady. People are always walking around in the street or just standing there. Ive never had any problems though. No one walks around in the lot or near the actual apartments.

Rent is about average for the size of it. Its a nice place on the inside, utilities included, washer and dryer. Close to campus and wendys.

Worddddd
