i have the original cd keys, but they aren't working. i played a few years ago, but now am trying to reinstall it and it's saying it's not a valid cd key - online AND offline. wtf?

well, it installed okay, but i had to use a generic serial i found online to play... that's not going to fly with battlenet, what is one supposed to do? :/

sounds like someone got a hold of your key, that or it's worn down and your mistaking a B for 8 or something

is it possible that if i had originally purchased d2 and lod separately, then lost them and bought the collectors edition, then found them again and got the cases mixed up that the collectors edition discs won't work with the single ones?

possibly... does it verifiy off the disc? (start d2, eject the disc (if you can and keep messing around in the game at all), and try to enter the code again)

old discs might not play well with collectors keys (and visa versa), especially during the install. that verification is done on disc, so the old disc wouldn't know about the new keys
