The cinematography was really good.

Also, I'm getting to the point in movies where the random T-boning of someone while driving or someone randomly getting killed gets predictable but it got me in this movie.

I saw this in Knoxville and I was younger than anyone else in the theater by at least 30 years if that tells you anything.

i really was disappointed by this

and one small annoyance, how many times do we need to see that damn see-saw shit or whatever it was and doors opening then closing

Saw this last night, scary stuff and really good.

Also it's probably the only movie I've been to where a couple walked out with 5 minutes left, for no obvious reason.

^^^ Yeah I was the youngest in the theater by far.

I thought it was kinda scary

not nearly as bad of a "creepy kid" formula I thought it would be

loved it but the ending was far too spelled out, in terms of the grave and shit. I felt slightly clever for knowing what was going on, but not after that..

*spoiler?*

and was the kid who pushed her into the tub Simon? i interpreted it that way, my friend disagreed.

*end*

yeah, the headstone definitely dumbed it down too much.

after the mom slapped him she went out with the other families.... at this time the kid went to toma's place, costume and all and fell through the stairs and died. The kid, the wife saw, was either tomas's ghost or simon's ghost trying to play with her/warn her.

I agree about the ending being too spelled out. What happened was obvious enough without the grave part. Plus it would have left a little room for interpretation.

^^ something about Laura and Simon and in memory of (the names of the kids, including Tomas)

Spoilers......

^No. She went outside after slapping him, he went down in the basement. Then, while looking for him she moved the poles in front of the basement door, effectively locking him down there.

He died or was injured later that night. She came home from the hospital, heard the banging... rolled up outside the bedroom door in the wheelchair and then heard the crash. The crash was him falling through the banister.

They showed all of this.

That being said, it could have been Simon or the ghost of Tomas (assuming the ghosts were actually real) who pushed her, but not Simon's ghost. I don't think he was even locked in the basement at that point, and he definitely hadn't fallen yet.
