I have a Lan Party UT NF4 ULTRA-D mobo and ran 1 gb ram in it for the last year and a half, i upgraded to 2 gb about a month ago, and got another gb stick for x-mas and went to put it in and it just throws a beep code. I replaced one of the old sticks with the new one and it worked (with 2 sticks in). So i put the third back in and nothin. I tried every combination with the slots and found nothing in the manual to help, just wondering if any of you guys have any ideas of what i could do. And oh ya, all 3 sticks of ram are the same.

Do you need a CRIMM stick? When you were running 1gb was it 2 sticks of 512, 1 stick of 1gb and a crimm stick, or just 1 stick of 1gb?

V, disregard what I said. I looked up the specs for you mobo and it used SDRAM which doesn't require crimm sticks.

when i was running 1gb it was 1 stick, the second stick i got is the same exact 1gb stick as the first, and so is the third

so, it works with 1 stick as well as with 2 but not with 3. What is the pattern of the beeps? 1 long then 3 short, 2 beeps of the same increment? It's probably just a general memory failure code but it would be good to know.

Have you updated the bios, if not then do so.

seems like it's a dual channel problem.


2 sticks are in dual, it you add a third it should switch to single channel for all.


but it may still be trying to run in dual channel mode (and failing to find the 4th stick)


see if there's a way to force it into single channel.
