Dubya ain't going to be starting WWIII even if he wanted to. He's run the military so deep into the ground with Iraq that he doesn't have the resources to fight the Iranians. Oh sure, he could drop a few bombs on them, but that's only going to further ruin the military and his rather remote hopes of salvaging his legacy by having the Iranians cause him even more trouble in Iraq.

As much as it may annoy the Iranians, I imagine that at this point, they don't really give a damn about what the White House is saying especially in an election year.
