So I've got a PC, an iMac and a MacBook...all connect to the net via the same router. How hard is it to set up a network so that I can access files on all three? Which computer is going to take the most 'programming'? The PC is the main computer, not sure if it matters.

to truly share files between the PC and the Macs, you'll need to have either a NAS that's formatted to Fat32, or a partition on the drive of the PC that has the fat32 filesystem.

if you do ntfs, you might get issues reading and writing while on the macintosh.

this is a good walk through on how to access mac files from your PC and this is a great guide on how to have them happily coexist.

and I like this picture:

OK. First of all, you guys are awesome. Seriously. I've gotten farther in the last 3 minutes thanks to you guys, than I have in 3 months.

Second, while I've managed to share my iMac and MacBook, I'm having problems with my PC--->Mac

I can see my Mac files on my pc by connecting from the command prompt, but I can't see my PC files on my Mac when I try and connect via the 'Go' tab like it says to do. :\

Step 1. Make sure windows file sharing is on and that you're actually sharing something
Step 2. Check any software firewalls you might have installed on the PC to make sure they allow other computers to access your windows shares.
