so somebody told me that chapstick (in general at least, not sure about every brand of lip balm) actually removes oils from your lips and in the long run makes them more dry? I say this because in the winter especially if I don't use that stuff multiple times a day my lips get uncomfortably dry and will eventually crack and even bleed in some cases if I don't keep applying some lip balm. So:

1) does chapstick really do this? do all lip balms do this?

2) is there some non girly looking/smelling/tasting stuff I can put on my lips that will work better so I don't have to apply it all the time?

guys can get chapped lips to mayne, and no it doesn't dry them out over time. Course u need chapstick in the winter cuz the air is so dry and it drys ur skin and lips out. think about it.

do you lick you lips a lot?

some people unconsciously do it which makes them believe they need chapstick.

This shit is better. Does different stuff to your lips than normal chapstick and in my experience lasts longer.

I've hard it was the bees stuff that did this.

But in general, i've always found chap stick to help, and I don't repeatedly use it (only when I have to).

I have heard it is "addictive" as well but not because it removes oils, but because repeated use of it over time tricks your lips into not generating the proper amount of oils. You then need to use the chapstick or your lips dry out more easily. Same concept with eye drops.

Why ask TWW when you can google for a real doctor's advice?

That Blistex DCT works very well, the only reason i don't use it is because that little tub it comes in is cumbersome to carry around.....

I use Chapstick Moisturizer religiously and it works well........i think i'm addicted to it, because i can't go somewhere without it in my pocket

I'm "kinda" addicted to Chapstick. I probably use it only 3-4 times on an average day, but if I accidentally find myself without it for the day I'll be nervous and more inclined to lick my lips, not helping the situation.

Psychologically addictive? possibly.

Physically Addictive? maybe in the sense that you don't use it your lipz aren't used to moisturizing themselves. Kind of like when your hair gets all oily and shit when you don't wash it and you stop getting dandruff.

I always have my Burt's Bees Wax with me at all times. I don't think I could get through my day comfortably with my lips feeling dry. Yeah, it's costs a little more but is 100% worth it.

Whenever it's cold and dry, that's when my lips flake the most. I hate Burt's Bees. It leaves a white film and dries my lips more if I don't use it frequently. I stick with Carmex and your classic Chapstick brands.

salicylic acid helps exfoliate skin...so even though in a small amount, it's probably helpful for lips (to get rid of the dry/dead stuff), using it on a regular basis, like in carmex, is probably a bad idea.

i like burt's bees in the tin, but chapstick is good too.
