pretty neat website...basically a world map with little animated icons for recent stories, and if you click the icon it opens an actual print article

Neat. I guess there are plenty of bomb threats around the world. And these are the ones that get reported. Imagine all the unreported incidents.

Pakistan:

Quote :
"Suicide bomber falls downstairs blowing self up"

ROFL

China:

Is pretty safe. Either that, or they don't report their terrorism threats.

probably a combination of

- a slow week
- lack of news coverage for whatever reason

i've seen stuff in south america though...the site does a pretty good job updating itself on a regular basis

^I would have a hard time arguing against that view....but the past 6 years or so has taken it to a different level.

Fear of fear mongering is fear mongering in itself. So

The "bombing in Pakistan" stories don't really surprise me but you read some interesting domestic stuff on that site...I think about 6 months ago there was some bomb scare at the airport in Indianapolis...I don't recall hearing about it anywhere else (I'm sure local news in Indy had it) but this site had a link

the fact that most of the advertisers are either security firms or preparedness agencies leads me to believe this is a convenient way to show "the terrorists are out there, and they can get you"

some of this stuff is interesting, like how Americans hate Walmarts. but even then, how many times have we've heard of "suspicious packages" at grocery stores or local airports, only to be a silly briefcase?

with 9 billion people, things like this happen. nothing new, but a cute little website to keep it all together for ya.

most of the links are either to local newspapers, yahoo, associated press, etc...they're not some hoax stories made up by security firms or preparedness agencies

but yeah nothing new, just a cool way to organize it, and it updates quite often

not the stories themselves, just the fact that they'll put anything on there that could even remotely be construed as relating to "terrorism", so they can get the shock value of a graphic map full of terrorist attacks.
