The city isn't what it was 10 years ago, there are parts of NE that give you the type of fun experience you can't get anywhere in the country (though I still limit myself to only a few visits to NE a year b/c it isn't that convenient)

I was there exactly a year ago on a business trip.

Thought I'd walk around and sightsee the Capitol, in the dark nonetheless. Of course i did this with no knowledge that the state of the union address was going on.

So in front of Capitol hill I scrunch down to take some pics of protestors. I suppose I was sitting there for about a minute.

All of a sudden a suburban drives up out of nowhereshining its headlights on me, then 5 seconds later a helicopter spotlights me for a moment, and that was that.
Thank god I wasn't questioned or anything but damn, it was wild. I finally realized what was going on when I got a late dinner and saw CNN, heh.
