Figured t-dub would know all the good places.
We're looking for an apartment close to campus for this fall. Doesn't need to be big or anything, though it should allow pets. 1-2 bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen/living room, and washer/dryer. On Wolfline would be preferred. Good management would be nice too.
The only one I've been inside is gorman crossing and that was very nice (yes, I've seen the thread about the camel crickets). I don't have high expectations, just want some place cheaper than living in the dorm. 1/28/2008 7:36:44 PM |

^^I don't live there (I live at Lake Johnson Mews) but I heard from alot of people that live there that it's really nice. 2 bedrooms will run you about $750. There's a waiting list to get in, so they must be doing something right. 1/28/2008 7:58:23 PM |

Ivy commons was $600 for a 2 bedroom, it was decent and a good value. Management was awesome they brought in a brand new washer and dryer the day the old one broke. Power bills were really low. Lot of grad students so not really much noise, no pets allowed though (unless you go through someone who owns their own unit).
Also there is 2 wolfline stops one on af and one on crest

Well is there a list of nearby pet-friendly apartments somewhere? I have a basset hound, and puppy has a rabbit and some fish. 1/28/2008 8:17:01 PM |

I live in Ivy Commons in one of the privately owned units, so I can have a pet if I want (I think I can have a cat, but not a dog).
My general thoughts are that the management here is good because you only see them when you need them. They have quickly fixed several problems with my place. Otherwise, they don't really exist because there is no "office" here.
The noise varies. There are few parties; however, there is a Hispanic complex that makes quite a bit of noise on a regular basis. And I hear people outside my window pretty often. It depends on which side of the complex you live on.
There are no amenities here whatsoever. I wish there was a gym or something. With your rent, you get an apartment, that is all.
Very close to two Wolfline routes - Avent Ferry and Greek Court. Most of the people who live here are male Asian and Indian graduate students.
All told, it's a decent place to live. 1/28/2008 8:21:55 PM |

I don't think this place was very good but I lived in Townhouses off Trexler court. Actually it sucked but I am sure other people liked living there.
Living close to the Wolfline was great.
Isn't about any place cheaper than living in the dorms? 1/28/2008 8:40:49 PM |

hell, just about anywhere is probably cheaper than living in the dorms. Most dorms are $2k+ a semester not including internet or phone. Wolf Village is about $2600 with everything so that's about $650/month. 1/28/2008 8:48:38 PM |

gorman street village isn't too bad. it could be a lot better, and management kinda sucks (but they dont come and bother you at all) i think it will be 335 plus electric for you. but it is a decent sized place; large kitchen,dining/living room combo, and 3 bedrooms each with its own bathroom.
