Here are some of my paintings. These are NOT for sale, just an example of the quality/style of my work. Sorry about the glares, but they are already in frames and on a wall in somebody's house.

Dachshund:

NCSU young wolf mascot:

Deer:

Buffalo with genuine arrowhead collection:

If anyone is interested in a print of the wolf pup, let me know and I will look into it. The original painting is not for sale, but I may offer prints if I can find a good place to make them.

I am offering to paint a custom picture for anyone who requests it. Any size canvas. Any subject. My fee is for the materials used + the time I spend working on it.

awesome! I'd like to see your work now.

^^
nevermind then. [even though you are just trolling]

^
I'm going to paint a kangaroo. I have free time tonight.
If you seriously want it, that's great. If not, then I'll keep it.

and also people, remember this is classifieds and not chit chat.

that's actually a good thing for me. It means I've got nothing to lose (the time spent would be time I'd be wasting online anyways). The more work I do, the better I will become at it. If these are really as terrible as you say, then I'm not losing anything selling them to other students. If anyone here has some serious offers, wonderful. I'm just having fun, and using this as practice. There is always someone who would take these. Once someone offered to buy the wolf one for a few hundred, but I refused because I was entering it in a contest, which I did not win, but that doesn't matter. It has a good home now.

How much for the Kangaroo? (Yes I am sort of serious)

And remember, art doesn't have to be beautiful. "It's so ugly... It is art." Along those lines. Like the Pontiac Aztec.

thanks 7trax, but this isn't that sort of thing. That's the type of comment I'd reserve for drunknloaded's MS Paint drawings.
I'm going to work on the kangaroo this afternoon. What are you willing to pay?

^yes, the dachshund in the original post was done from a photo.
Possibly for shipping, if its a small 8 x10 or something similar, sure no problem.

I'm not doing any more this week, but still taking requests which will be done whenever I have time. I had a pm request that if I do will take me over a week. Same with rtc407's request. I won't start on either of those without more information.

I've almost finished that kangaroo.

this is not a case of "so ugly it must be art" (I really HATE the fucktards who say this shit--they know nothing of art, and are smug in their stupidity), it's just bad.

okay, since my work is so terrible, I'm not doing this anymore. Forget it. I have better things to do anyways.

I'm not doing any more paintings ever again. Forget this thread.

I'm also a terrible photographer (not that I ever claimed differently). Big deal.

Meh, everyone has got to start somewhere, props to puppy for putting herself out there.

I liked the buffalo one. While you're still refining your technique, I'd run with mixed medium works like that.

Maybe you could do one of Bob Ross?

^^^thank you.

My very first sentence in this thread read:
Quote :
"just an example of the quality/style of my work"

I did not expect to have the best quality. That good quality comes from one of two things: either being born with super talent, or spending every moment of your time refining that technique. I don't have that time.

If someone doesn't like it and has nothing good to say, the only logical option would be to leave the thread without posting.
If someone has helpful advice, that's great! JCASHFAN had the right idea. I love helpful feedback about anything and everything.
Saying "that's ugly" is not helpful feedback. Tell me how I can improve. If you can not give me advice for improvement that means that you have no good reason to criticize.

^yes, I do.

It's a lot different than acrylic, and I think you'll have a much better time blending the colors. Just make sure to stock up on mineral spirits.
