they probably fired him. His team was predicted to finish 3rd in the big 12 this year, they've lost games they shouldn't have lost and got blown out by rivals, now all the "fans" are going apeshit and blaming the winningest coach in div. 1 history!!!1

he'd RETIRE if he wanted to quit coaching...you would think...just odd, I know that much.

Pat is the coach now, but still very odd that he would RESIGN and not retire.

If he was fired, I doubt they would give him the chance to turn the team over to his son. This is one of the most bizarre resignations to occur to my knowledge. Hopefully more light gets shed on this.
