If you load up TWW for the first time, and you have a PM waiting, there is a good 2 or 3 second delay with your browser. It happens for me in Mozilla both at work and home.

I have no idea. I remember wayyyyy back in the day there used to be a sound effect that played when you got a PM. Maybe the page is still trying to load that sound file?

its your browser loading the "software" to play the sound file.

its not TWWs fault you have a slow computer.

If the file doesn't play anymore, then there's no point in having the code. Remove the code and it fixes the problem.

the sounds play for me. something's probably not configured right on your computer then.

I get the sound or an activex control error depending on what computer I am on.

Either thing lets me know I have a pm.

okay. I never hear a sound when I get a pm. Volume is up, and the sound setting under settings is on.

also I don't notice a lag.
