Pop Rock was a long-lived music genre on MTV, VH1, and others in 1990's. It was an attempt to combine great singers with the teenie bop drama. For example, one scene in a studio had the singer break into song, proclaiming "He's Guilty" in Gospel style. Another song had a lineup of Hispanic suspects proclaim in song "We're the local color with the coppertone skin / And you treat us like we're guilty of some terrible sin. The song was a failure with both the critics and the public.
