i currently have a targus matrix backpack (one of the largest ones), but it seems that i'm very bad with it - in that, i GUESS i overload it and so my relatively small laptops (14.1") tend to develop funky spots on the screen (not dead pixels, but areas, when viewed from extreme angles, appear brighter than the rest of the screen)...the best as i can figure, as this has happened with more than one laptop, that it's the amount of stuff i carry and the way that the laptop sits in the bag

okay, so what do y'all suggest? i like having an all-in-one bag - i can carry my 48oz. nalgene, a couple of books, various electronics, and my laptop...but with the new one on the way, i want to treat it well from the get-go...i was thinking messenger bag style, but i can't decide...suggestions?

just my standby for laptop messenger bag questions...not sure if it's big enough to fit all you want (there is an XL size, but that's mostly for the size of the laptop)

These guys make some excellent bags. Maybe a little pricey for you what you want, but I have one and it's very durable and excellent protection.
