I parked my car I've had for 2.5 weeks in the Target parking lot b/c I had to run a quick 2 minute errand. Well, it's pretty windy so I made sure not to park near any carts. Well some fuckwad decided they wanted to get out of the wind quickly and brought their cart right to their car and just fucking left it on the sidewalk apparently.

I walk out and it's faceplanted right in the front bumper of my new car. Only a minor scratch thankfully but fuck you lazy fucking shits. No wonder you don't get anywhere in life.

This is why I always used to ask myself is it really worth it to get a dent/ding/scratch to save myself 50 or even 100 ft of walking from farther out in the parking lot. That reasoning doesn't work so well when your car has no gloss coat left on it, has more chips than dents, or the parking lot is incredibly small.

I agree. I'm pretty sure it's commonplace in Europe that you pay a small money deposit to get a cart in stores. So I don't think it's asking much for ius to at least put the cart back in the storage spots. And that's coming from a fat, semi-lazy person.

i was @ food dog a few months ago, and some douche had his cart propped against his bumper and just drove away. Well, he was parked on a hill, and I was below him, 3 empty spaces away. I was buckled and my windows were up when I noticed the cart rolling my way. I managed to get my window down and grab the cart just before it slammed into my door. I drive a truck, so I had to reach down to get it, and I couldn't get my seat belt off, or get the door open to move the cart b/c letting go would mean letting it hit the vehicle.....I spent about 3-4 minutes trying to sling the cart far enough up the hill to give me time to get out and grab it before it rolled back down the hill and slammed my door. Finally got it tho.

I'm sure it was quite comical for anyone that happened to be watching

i remember once my dad was telling me that his car got hit by 2 DIFFERENT CARTS in the food lion lot. he called the managers just to bitch because there was 2 carts sitting up against his car, and he was parked kinda far. like informing them that he thought their design sucked and thats why those carts ended up there, and that they always probably end up there. and that they suck for not doing anything about it.

loss prevention called him and ended up mailing him a check and said to get back in touch with an estimate if it was worse than that.

also, fuck people who judge the laziness of other people based on the impact it has on them and their car

I usually hit up the grocery store 2 times a week so never justify the use of a cart. I just use the little basket and limit my purchases to what I absolutely need so I don't overspend.

Oh yeah, you just reminded me...One time I was coming back from a hiking trip in Shenandoah and the chick who was driving got a big nasty gash in her door from a cart when we stopped at the Food Lion somewhere in rural VA. Anyway, all the cart returns were completely full way past their max capacity and there were carts all over the parking lot. I snapped a few photos with my digicam of how much of a trainwreck their parking lot was. She called Food Lion corporate and they cut her a check for about $450 for repairs.

It really was a special circumstance, but I think the folks from Food Lion agreed that there was some negligence on the store's part that helped lead to the problem.
