wrong,
wrong,
exactly.

iPods are ridiculously tough. The only part that "breaks" would be the hard drive, which is the same with any non-flash mp3 player. Maybe you are talking about the glass-screened touch and iPhone, but even then, you can shatter the screen and the thing will keep on ticking.

inconvienent? The iPod+iTunes introduced the notion of simplicity to digital music. Incompatible? it supports MP3, how much more compatible can you get? It took me 5 minutes to put my entire mp3 collection on my iPod when I got it.

expensive? You pay the premium for good design, a great experience and great support. Apparently a hundred million or so people would agree. You want cheap? Go get a Sansa.

Better than an iPod, not much. Cheaper and decent? The zune, Sansa line, Creative's players, several iRiver models are all decent.

there are some great mp3s around the same price that BLOW. IPOD. AWAY. hell, theres a phone better than iphone. its just all about marketing. apple is a marketing machine. marketing is the most important thing in consumer prodcuts.

you can be a moron and deal with the theatrics of exporting music into itunes that has to be in a seperate folder or just drag and drop or something easier all for free. 2000 songs =2000 dollars HAHA SUCKERS

you do realize you dont have to buy from itunes to get legal music on your ipod? I've never purchased a single song from iTunes.

If you already KNOW this, why the fuck did you even start the thread? And, like it or not, there isn't any mp3 player as good as the iPod as a total package. The whole is more than the parts.

And this thread isn't about phones either, so why even bring it up?

a nano isn't exactly relative to the other two... i wouldn't compare it to the full size ipods either.

did you come here with a serious question or just to aimlessly fire on iPods and Apple?

I have had 3 archos mp3 players ( one did video too )
the first one was one of the first hd based mp3 players all of them were awesome until i somehow broke them. The first two each survived 2 years at the golf course and were run over by lawn mowers multiple times. I also like how they connect to a pc just like an external hd and just show up as a disk drive.

which, of course, you can do with an iPod also.

i swear, 95% of iPod bashing is just Apple-hate or ignorance about what the product actually does or can do. I rarely hear a legitimate reason why people don't like ipods

I'm not bashing i didn't say anything negative about the ipod... my newest archos can have songs loaded via wifi and has a touch screen... of course now so does the ipod (2 years later)
