i was trying to figure out why spain didn't help in the big war then i found out they had their own civil problems going on.

ok so i noticed that mousalinis idea to setup a coop to dismantle the communist party in spain and hitler approved it. if not for this, they would have certainly fallen to communism. what role would this have played in the cold war? a huge one? a possibly result changing one? could it have spread to portugal, north africa maybe even a rebuilding france?

its funny how little small details change things so drastically

i didnt just find that out but i just found out they wouldve been communist without interferance and i still have no idea how weak they were. im just saying lets say they solved the civil war communist party took over how big would they have been a player in the end of the war post war. i know they are always pretty powerful throughout history and being a soviet in the west may have made a pretty big difference. im just saying discuss

Had they been communist after 1939 I'm sure that Nazi Germany would have taken them on after the fall of France.

If it wasn't for the Byzantines on the east and/or Charlemagne in France, Europe might have ended up being an Islamic continent.

^^Huh? Gibralter is between southern Spain and Morocco. Normandy is in northern France.

this would not have prevented Normandy although it would have been a huge pain in the ass for the Allies

but Spain (General Franco) was happy to just sit back neutrally, have no more war, and sell arms to Britain

Yup.

"CONSTANTINOPLE:
August 717-August 718

By turning back the Moslem invasion, Europe remained in Christian hands, and no serious Moslem threat to Europe existed until the fifteenth century. This victory, coincident with the Frankish victory at Tours (732) limited Islam's western expansion to the southern Mediterranean world."

Plus the diversionary feigned assault was directed towards the balkans. I see your point now.
