This waiting an hour on hold bullshit sucks and now I gotta go into work at like 6am assholes
HOW DO YOU CANCEL A FLIGHT THAT IS FULL EVERY DAMN WEEK MOTHERFUCKERS
I'd go with someone else if the company wasn't scheduling the damn thing. 2/21/2008 10:06:40 PM |

do not leave empty handed
you better come up with a good excuse on why you have to be there tomorrow.
and you can maybe get a free flight out of it. 2/21/2008 10:07:20 PM |

weather is not an excuse to cancel a flight at 8:45 tonight for a flight that is not until 6:50 pm tomorrow 2/21/2008 10:10:54 PM |

i recently had a 6:25am flight delayed 3-4 hours
there were terrible thunderstorms and the plane we were supposed to use in the morning wasn't allowed to leave o'hare until the next day. hence, the plane we needed at 6:25am wasn't going to be there.
depending on where the airplane is that you were supposed to be on, it could be a chain reaction. don't be a spaz, shit happens. 2/21/2008 10:22:21 PM |

thats what happened to us when we were in florida. they called us at like 8pm the day before our flight at like 6am. we told them we had a dry cleaners to run and we are loosing business if we do not show up at 8am or so. they gave all 5 of us free flights 2/21/2008 10:27:29 PM |

Have fun on the phone with them. Outside of maybe state government, nothing is more frustrating to communicate with than an airliner.
You're probably better off driving to the airport and talking to someone there

^^ depends on the issue
many a time when a flight has been cancelled or delay after delay keeping being posted, the 800# can be a wealth of info. personally, i prefer to skip a 2 hour wait line at the customer service counter at the airport. so i call the 800# and get info a lot quicker and rebooked in minutes
if my flight is sketchy and keeping getting delayed and weather is bad or i'm not sure we're going to be leaving, the 800# updates info a lot faster than the gate does. i've found out that flights are canceled and delayed about 10-15min before the gate posts it and i have time to react before most other people find out about it. 2/21/2008 10:40:00 PM |

I realize weather happens, I've sat through my share of delays but
Just to clarify this was a cancellation 21 hours in advance so I think its a little early to cancel due to weather especially when all the other flights from newark to raleigh before an after are still on, also its a small plane so I doubth it would coming to or from anywhere other than regional flights. My big problem is spending an hour waiting to talk to someone then when I ask to talk to a supervisor I wait another 30 minutes before finally just giving up. I know its nightime but i'f you operate and are going to cancel late at night you need to have representatives available and as big a business as they are they should be able to manage
few other businesses in the world could get away with this shit and they don't care cause they don't have to
as it stands now I'm leaving earlier which is nice but now I have to go into work really early and still make up time next week, not to mention having to explain to management why I need to leave at noon

maybe it was mechanical??
agreed that airlines suck ass. just have to learn some shortcuts and deal with it as best you can. and never EVER step foot into an airport without at least two good books and a power strip! 2/21/2008 10:46:44 PM |

It is a little strange that they'd cancel it this early. I've been stuck in snow storms before and they at least waited until the day of the flight to cancel it. If there is shitty weather at one of their hubs, it ties up a lot of their craft...maybe they forsee that and are planning ahead? Dunno. 2/21/2008 10:46:52 PM |

Hurmmmmm Looks like Continental was on point....

Delays are exceeding 5 hours in Philly, at JFK, and at Newark... and it's not noon yet. Seeing as how late your flight was, I think they may have been aware the flight wouldn't happen and gave you the early option to rebook. 2/22/2008 11:31:04 AM |

if there's bad weather anywhere, that's usually the excuse given for airline fuck-up's so they don't have to compensate the people that get screwed over 2/22/2008 12:39:40 PM |
