I want to start of this thread by saying congratulations to the G-Men on winning one of the biggest games in NFL history, and bagging one of the biggest upsets in sports history.

We're the champs til at least next February, so let's enjoy it!

With our coaching staff and almost all of our key players signed for the next several years, we have the talent to play at this level for years to come. A good hole-filling draft and a couple effective free agents could put us over the top.

And with that in mind I am introducing the first off-season rumor for the thread:

Quote :
"Giants Interested in Trading for CB DeAngelo Hall: According to The Star-Ledger, the Giants have held preliminary discussions with the Atlanta Falcons regarding a trade for Falcons’ CB DeAngelo Hall. The Ledger says the Giants are willing to part ways with their first-round draft pick in the 2008 NFL Draft for the 24-year old Pro Bowl cornerback.

The Ledger also reports that the Giants’ attention turned to Hall once the two players they targeted in free agency - CB Marcus Trufant (Seahawks) and CB Nnamdi Asomugha (Raiders) - were protected with the Franchise Tag by their respective teams. The Ledger says the Giants are not interested in CB Asante Samuel (Patriots)."

I dunno...the new, more easygoing Coughlin might be able to make it work. And Hall is definitely a player.

After his indecision last year, has there been any word yet on whether Strahan is going out on a high note, or coming back? He can obviously still play at a high level, but I guess it depends on what he wants.

If the bills had a real QB, they would be a good team.

^Shit.

I mean, the guy never finished a full season, production went down and never lived up to his amazing rookie year. But damn, I really liked him.

Don't think Kevin Boss is half as athletic as Shockey but could still be a decent TE. He definitely won't draw the double coverages though which I think will hurt our other receivers' productivity. Apparently he has gained like 20 pounds during the offseason (most rookies do after the first year) and this should help out with his blocking. hell, we won the Superbowl with this guy, can't be too bad.

The offense was a disappointment in the second half, but overall this was a great start to the season. Manning is comfortable, Plaxico is healthy, and man oh man can Brandon Jacobs pound it in.

i didn't think manning looked all that great. He should have thrown 3 picks instead of just the one. Better hope nothing happens to burress, cuz he didn't look comfortable going to any other receiver

jacobs is an absolute monster. If he stays healthy, pencil him for 1,500.

i like the chemistry eli has with steve smith, too. Dude's becoming toomer 2.0 with the quickness.
