SCSI CDROM wtf?

Windows identifies my dvd burner as a BS0913Y NYE656A SCSI CdRom Device

what the hell?

help!

its IDE

and imgburn doesn't see it as a valid device

so it doesnt work at all? forget imageburn, what about windows? can you read/burn a cd thru windows?

is your jumper set correctly?

has this thing ever worked?

device manager, uninstall, reboot.

find driver for it manually install

I can't even find the manufacturer's product page, much less a driver

the device works just fine as a DVD-ROM but it can't write any discs

daemon tools is installed, btw

the daemontools virtual CD device (the one that mounts ISOs) installs as a scsi cdrom
if i remember correctly the name you gave is what the daemon tools device looks like... i think it randomly generates characters for the first two words

might want to check and see if windows actually DID see your drive
