what kind of car is most comfy? I'm currently napping in my explorer, and it has nice room. My friend's Jetta, however, sucks for quick sleepage.

when I took my roadtrip out to california/vegas/etc I slept in the back seat of my honda accord at rest stops several times. I only took three showers that trip.

Volvo 240 Wagon. Drop that back seat and you've got roughly a 7' x 4 1/2' sleeping area

My Subaru station wagon kinda sucks for sleeping. Even with the back seat down, you can't completely stretch out. Maybe I'm just too tall.

the driver's seat of a celica is EXCELLENT for napping in
Driver's seat of an escort...not as much, but not bad

back seat of an escort...not bad, but not great.

Park your car in an underground parking deck, though, and the background noise of the ventilation system will put you out cold in three minutes.

i had a 4 door s-10 blazer. fold down the back seat and you've got almost a twin bed. just need a blanket and pillow.

I called the cops on a woman doing this ll parked in cameron park a few years ago. She was obviously living out of it, though. I had had enough after a month.

yeah, all 2-seaters are terrible for sleeping for that reason.

when i drove across the country, i slept in the Budget truck every other night (laid out across the seat in the cab).

I've slept in my Mazda Protege. Wasn't the best sleep but it wasn't necessarily bad either.

Apparently my '91 Camry was good for sleeping since I got fired for sleeping 3 hours on my lunch break.

punchmonk, if you need to sleep try to find a hotel or 24-hour gas station and tell both the attendant and someone you know where you are & what you're doing. Sketchy attendant - keep driving. If it's late enough and the hotel is empty, they might even cut you a deal on a room.

I've never spent the night in my car, but I have definitely leaned the seat back and gotten some shut-eye. '96 Mark VIII > '03 Marauder in that regard, though both were (are, for the Marauder) pretty comfy (big car with big, well padded leather seats FTW...)

back in high school we would get bored and drive down to the beach late at night and just sleep, or attempt to, in a hotel parking lot

92 nissan sentra worked well for me, i sometimes alternated nights after i left the super 8. just pull over in the rest area and go to sleep. i figured as long as i had no cash on me there was nothing to worry about.

thankfully, i will never sleep in a car again. i sure as hell didnt do it cause i wanted to.

i've stopped for a few Z's lots of times in all kinds of different cars. if i get sleepy while driving, i just pull over and sleep for a little bit.

that box truck was the only time i can think of where i slept all the way through the night, and it was fine. i just found the most well-lit, heavily trafficked, least sketchy looking place i could, pulled over, locked the doors, and kept my 1911 cocked, locked, and within easy reach. i was driving all day every day, and i didn't feel like wasting money on a hotel just to sleep for a few hours. i only stayed in hotels every other day, and that was so I could take a shower and shave.
