The statistics clearly show that you are deciding to have less children.

Why is this? What's so bad about starting to make a big family just 1-2 years after finishing your last degree and entering the work world? 3, 4, 8 kids, why not? Being more educated means you and your eventual husband (who is also probably highly educated) have so much greater means to have MORE children and MORE happiness!

If you're a highly educated woman and do plan on having LOTS of children... I'm accepting PMs

Because when a crock pot is tighter than your vagina

And you haven't slept in years because your the only one who will take care of the children, clean, and cook

Your highly educated husband will leave you for his tighter, younger secretary or colleague

maybe since they're educated they care about the world's population and environmental problems

having a husband does not equal happiness

havng children does not equal happiness

most divorces are over finances. more than 2/3rds of divorces are filed by the wife.

if you're a chick, marriage followed by divorce is absolutely the most financially lucrative transaction you can make. Add kids in though, start splitting the amethyst tiaras two or three ways, and all of the sudden softball and protesting begin sounding pretty fucking good

true . . .

That's silly and materialistic! The (presumable) life value gained from having kids of your own and bring them up can't be equated in constant economic terms. There are some things that are of the same value to every human, then in turn, the technical "economic" worth would be proportional to the worth of that person, only because it would be worth as much as that person could pay.

Remember playing Life, people? Remember those Life cards? They were worth a shit ton!

haha i think you could also sell your kids into slavery in Life (atleast the old 1970s version).

kids schmids, i want to do what i want to when i want to.

to summarize: me.

maybe someday that will change and if it does i'm adopting.

So you're making a conscious decision to not have kids? Or just inaction? Your parents had you, why not return the favor?

yeah I guess whether graduate school is worth it or not depends entirely on what you got your degree in, so you might make a lot more or you might make a little more. what are you in school for?

Why not? At its heart, economics isn't the study of money, it is the study of how people make decisions, money is simply the medium by which me measure that (right or wrong).

Opportunity cost doesn't have to be money, the choice not to have kids could free someone up to spend their life doing charity work in Africa, or be a hooker at the Bunny Ranch in Vegas, it doesn't really matter, the point is that more choices are available to women and they're exercising them.

cynicism and distrust?

What kind of man wants to fuck a woman whose vagina = clown car?

And who's constantly tired, worried, and probably gotten fat because she takes care of everyone else instead of herself?

That statement's mature as hell. I don't know you or anything, but I'm pretty sure you're not an immature person.

^^ cynicism and distrust was in regards to the presumption that husband will leave you and ultimately screw you over.

Do you women see any benefit to having children? How do humans still exist?!

I think it's appropriate for psychologically healthy women to have children.

There are so few of those it's laughable.

I think that the more unstable a woman is, probably the more likely she is to reproduce.
