I am probably gonna go out and spend some of my refund today, and I am finally going to get a nice gaming system. I have tried the Wi, and it is fun, but just not good enough yet. So that pretty much leaves the PS3 and Xbox 360. Does anyone on here own either one of these and have any recommendations.... or maybe can point me to a similar thread. Thanks.

I have both.

The performances are pretty similar except the PS3 has Blu-ray capabilities.

I guess the biggest question is whether you prefer Halo/Gears of War/Forza or Metal Gear/God of War/Gran Turismo.

Another big question is which system the majority of your friends play. Like I have a PS3 but have one friend on PSN whereas I have about a dozen on Xbox Live.

So ask yourself how important online play is and which proprietary games your prefer.
