I'll pick it up regardless since its the only baseball available for us with 360s

but I'd like some opinions just in case it sucks

I'm gonna pick it up after work. The custom in-game music sounds cool (Enter Sandman for Wagner..) and so does the new fielding.

The Show is definitely going to be better but I don't have a choice...

you've gotta be a pretty hardcore baseball fan to play a 162 game season, unless you literally play 1 game per day, or 5-6 games per week...I'll play a few games in one day, then won't play the game for a few more

still thats why games like this have season create options of (just guessing) 162, 81, 40 game seasons

I've played a few NBA 2K8 seasons in my franchise with the Bobcats (go Cats!!1) but I chose the 26 game season length in lieu of the 82...also I shortened the playoffs from best-of-7

moral of the story, you can customize a lot of shit...you dont have to play a full 162 game season

sidenote: football 16 vs. baseball 162 is the reason football is America's new favorite sport

I've said for years that if baseball was structured like football

With 1 game a week and one starting pitcher who would pitch every game just like a QB starts every game

and maybe 3-4 relievers

It would be much more popular

Hard to excited for one game when theres a game almost every day

Easy to get excited for one game when there's only one a week

pitching is tricky...batting comes more quickly

pitching takes two different motions with the right stick, and they have to be timed right...pretty tricky, but its pretty cool...i've thrown a lot of meat pitches though which get rocked...im still working on pitching

hitting is pretty similar...i played my first homerun derby and got about 10 on a 3 minute duel...right stick is the swing stick

baserunning is tricky at first...some things are the same as 2k7 like LT advancing one base and RT retreating one base but its tough...use the Tips tutorial

throwing is a motherfucker...its all done with the right stick and holding it in a certain direction for a certain amount of time

they also have a lot of A, AA and AAA teams and stadiums...you can be the Knights, Bulls, Mudcats, etc...pretty cool

lots of classic stadiums as well...i havent gotten deep enough to get any classic teams yet but im sure there are plenty to unlock

they still have johan on the twins...2k servers are messing up so i dunno what downloads they have...havent checked the marketplace yet...but there was an update as soon as i put the disc in

overall i think it will be dope once you (and I) get the hand of the new controls

They have a roster update out already on Live... I got it. Johan on the Mets and Bedard on the M's... it's current as of 2/29.

I actually think the gameplay has improved A LOT! Pitching is hard as shit when you pump up the difficulty and fielding is awesome... the hit stick is much better... no lag this year.

The framerate could be better unfortunately in the field... I put it to 720P instead of 1080i and it helped a bit...

^ I'm all over that too... I got a David Wright bobblehead like 2 years ago as a promotion at Shea.

My last two games with those sliders I played the Phils.

In Game 1 Ollie Perez struck out 13 and I won 7-2 (Delgado had a 3 run HR).

In Game 2 John Maine pitched and I left a few fastballs up and Ryan Howard crushed one and then Utley hit a bases clearing double and I lost 8-3.

That's some realistic shit. Santana threw a 4 hit shutout through 7 but walked 3 (this is the first baseball game I've ever played where I walk people actually when I'm not trying to) on Opening Day.

NyM, have you played a game yet on the Legend difficulty?

I heard there was a better chance of getting cards with gold or platinum borders with the higher difficulty levels, so me and my buddy last night set it to Legend (most difficult level in game) and played a game....aside from some of the meters going faster which you'd expect (ie its harder to release a throw to 2nd in the 'yellow' zone), the pitching was even harder...I've gotten to where I can pitch and get 99% of my pitches in the zone or where I want them on Pro difficulty, usually with a tight pinpoint in the middle of the circle at the end of the pitch...but doing the exact same thing on Legend made me throw 90+% meatball pitches...only real pitches I threw were when I missed the circle and happened to line up the pinpoint green at the end of the pitch...any idea why pitching was so much harder on Legend? I literally threw like 2 pitches all game that worked right and I don't know how I did it

i'm getting better at pitching which makes the game more fun...i still dont have much of a chance when i play the computer on anything higher than Pro but I'm getting the hang of the Cards thing too...fun game if they'd fix the framerate issues
