in better news, I've found some forums that describe how to cover the drum pads with double sided adhesive and felt to make the drums much quieter. We'll have to experiment with that.

i think he's talking about the stock sound attached to each pad you play when the "solo for star power" lines come up. but i think i've still thrown down some sick fills.

no, I was referring to that obnoxious clacking sound the pads make when you hit them with the sticks. I don't like cranking up the volume enough to drown out the music. They went to the effort to make the guitar silent, but the sound of playing the drum kit is much worse.
