so i realized like 10 minutes ago that i hadn't eaten anything all day (damn speed )

i'm still in wilmington at my parents' house so i went rooting around in the pantry

i find: cheese tortellini and a can of tomato paste

"self," i think to myself, "what can you make with this?"


so i empty the tomato paste into a pyrex mixing thing
pour some safflower oil into it
pour some milk into it
whip it together until it makes a weird fucktarded emulsion

sure enough, it's the consistency of pasta sauce

added some oregano, basil, garlic, chili flakes, onion, salt, paprika, and pepper

good so far...

it sure did LOOK like a vodka sauce so i figured i'd go all the way and added 1/2 cup of vodka on the top, lit it, let it burn, and then mixed it in.

stuck it in the microwave to warm for 2 minutes

tasted it... holy mother of god, this is the best vodka sauce i've ever tasted, and i didn't even set out to make vodka sauce...

cooked the tortellini, poured it over, grated some parmigian and romano over it... mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
