Anyone into these guys on here? A friend recommended them a few years ago and I didnt really enjoy them at the time. But I ran back across them last night and LOVE the first album I was able to pick up by them "We, The Vehicles." Ill definitely be picking up their earlier work and their 2007 release as well tonight to check them out.
For those of you who have been living under a rock like myself they were started in 2003 with ex members of The Promise Ring(vocalist) and The Dismemberment Plan (both great bands). This one album that I have is really fun/catchy indie rock with some good dancy grooves. The songs have gotten stuck in my head hardcore after the first night of listening.
Even pitchfork has given favorable reviews of their last few albums
PS the promise ring lead singer sounds SO different in this band to me than he did with TPR 3/12/2008 8:25:20 AM |

maritime is awesome. i destroyed 'we the vehicles.' one of those albums that can fit nearly any mood that you can listen to all the way through and never get tired of. i heard track 2 'tearing up the oxygen' and was hooked for life. 'heresy and the hotel choir' is pretty good. not as good as vehicles to me, but still a solid indie rock pop album. good call on the topic jamie. 3/12/2008 10:27:30 AM |
