The first of the direct to DVD SG-1 movies got released on DVD yesterday. Anyone else watched it? It serves as a proper ending to the Ori storyline they basically left wide open at the end of the series.

Yeah, it was pretty good. Only for the fans though I would imagine. I can't see a casual sci-fi person really liking it as if it was just a stand alone (unlike Serenity for example).

But if you were dumb enough to watch the show and you were pissed at the ending (or lack thereof) then you should definitely watch this.

I was able to watch the last 2 seasons of the show after it was cancelled, knowing it had movies coming soon. I watched the movie and was happy with it. I do wish that they could have done more sexy things with the Ori bitch though.

Like had her get gangbanged.

i was pretty pissed at the series finale...so i was excited to see the commercials for Ark of Truth

It's weird because they film Atlantis in HD (720p) but I guess they didn't want to dump the extra expenses into that budget.

I'm pretty sure that it was filmed in HD and will most likely be broadcast in HD over on Sky one (UK) on the 24th. If you want to wait that long to see it, that would be your best bet to get it in HD.

Actually it will be broadcast on SkyHD in 480p.

Actually now, I'm seeing conflicting reports about it being in HD. ^ Where are you getting your info that it wasn't filmed in HD? I can't imagine they wouldn't at least film it in HD.

I just can't imagine that would be the case. Although I can't seem to find anything concrete one way or the other.

I mean the last two seasons of atlantis and the final season of SG-1 were filmed in High Def.

I just can't imagine they would downgrade.

Do they even make production level filming equipment that is limited to 480p anymore?
