Hello Wolfpack. I was pulling for you against Miami today. Maybe thats why I wasn't focused on my own team. Anyway Melanie says hello.

Sincerely,

HJS

Hello Herb,

How's ASU treating you? Consider yourself lucky that no one on your team has raped or murdered anybody like your poor football team. Also, I hope for your sake that none of your team members did what your baseball team did and take joke (although by now surely you realize that most classes are jokes compared to every other university in the country) music classes. It must pain you to have to coach at a school where even the 'Beatles 101' classes are too hard for members of your sports teams that they need to cheat. Speaking of taking 'Beatles 101' you must have caught our favorite gay stripper on American Idol proudly proclaiming that he too, took the class and no doubt ou are proud. I'd like to tell you that things are looking up for you but there's a reason why ASU is the biggest school in the country...

Good luck in the off season!

Sincerely,

LJJ

Um.....ASU IS easier to get into than UA....by a HUGE margin. Go ahead and find 5 people who got into both schools and CHOSE ASU. Doesn't happen. And really....when your student body president gets in trouble for allowing a porn to be taped with him and his blessing...and when a member of your cheerleading team decides to pursue a career in the porn industry, but is too stupid to realize that wearing her ASU cheerleading outfit might give her away....well...you've really got to wonder about their standards or lack of.

Also, I was recently informed that on 'The Simpsons' a joke was made specifically aimed at ASU was made by saying after Homer Simpson got into 'heaven' that heaven was easier to get into than ASU.

Tke....I know you have a hardon for ASU and I don't know why...but whatever....do they show the NIT tourney on national TV?

NAU at least doesn't pretend to be in the same caliber as UA....they know their place..and I'll even say that someone who get's into both UA and NAU may choose NAU because of where it is and the fact that it is a completely different atmosphere. I've been to Flagg....it's almost like you're not in Arizona at all which I'm sure appeals to a good amount of people

the only possible reason they could like ASU would be cause of herb.

now that ive actually resided in tucson, i can wear my arizona basketball t-shirt and not be called a bandwagon fan.

not that they've been any good in years

[Edited on March 13, 2008 at 7:23 PM. Reason : flagstaff is like the boone of arizona. nau = the NC ASU yo]

^^^^yup, they sure did....of course we were missing 1 of our 2 star players in each of those games...Not to mention our coach....

Also, you wanna know how many times UA students rush the floor when we beat ASU...which we did 24 out of 25 times from 95-07? Zero...you know why? Cause beating ASU is like beating up on a retarded midget

^^leg, I'll totally buy you some UA gear as a thank you.

20 game basketball winning streak started this year. only 18 more to go

too bad Lute will actually have to be there to watch them in the upcoming years. unless he pulls another "i'm sick/my estranged wife is sick/my estranged wife wants too much money/Chase Buddinger sucks" excuse.

can't the same be said about Tucson? from my travels there, it really seems like it's in fucking Mexico

I like Tuscon. If I ever had to live in the western part of the country again I think I could live in Tuscon. I was there for a month in the mid 90s and LOVED the weather. Saw some pretty hot girls and washed my clothes at the gym. First time I ever saw one of those big ass cactus(i) and I had previously thought they were made up and shit.

Oh and the first time I saw a tumble weed was AWESOME... It was in El Paso and came bouncing across the road in front of us. I swear it was a big as the car we were in.

^^^^Yeah...Tucson is a shit hole....which is probably why Paul McCartney has a place there and why Oprah constantly raves about the Miraval spa as one of the nicest in the country. And mind you, Tucson is a very small town. It is a college town which is what makes it such an awesome place to go to school.

^me too....when and where?

Haha.. I forgot.. First time I saw a real live road runner.. I SWEAR those lil bastards are suicidal.. Those crazy ass things would run along you on the side of the road then DART in front of you. Guess it gets pretty boring running around the desert and that's how they keep the excitement.

metro-Tucson is just short of 1,000,000

small town? i thought it was pretty big when i was there

i remember that and that it seemed like 1/2 the people I encountered were Mexicans. i mean, it's about a 45 minute drive to the Mexico border, right?

You guys ever seen that restaurant that looks like a big ass cow skull? I saw it when I was there and was like WTF.

Then a few years later I saw it in a music video... Can't remember what band it was though.

^^Tucson metro includes places like Green Valley which no one actually considers to be Tucson....and there's lots of places like that...Tucson, the city has just over 500,000 and compared to Phoenix, that's small. There's no comparison between the two cities in terms of population and feel. Phoenix is a huge city, Tucson is not. And yeah, it's close to Mexico, more than 45 mins, but close yes....but so is San Diego so I'm not sure what your point is.....

^where?

Damn...I've never been to that place....I've driven on that highway before (going to Nogales freshman year, before I had a fake id) but going there it was always night...and coming back was still night and I was trashed so I wouldn't have seen anything. Though we once did pull into a random grocery store parking lot to pee.....in the parking lot....

nogales!

by the way, my phone is through nextel, and when you call it says "please wait while the nextel subscriber is located" or some shit

but when i was in tucson, everyone got that message in fucking spanish. and yeah its probably 45 minutes from tucson to mexico (once you get out of tucson. it takes like half an hour to drive through the traffic nightmare. that was the worst part. oracle road was obviously intended to be the main N-S drag, and i10 came in from the northwest, and was totally pointless. if you wanted to get to the freeway you had to drive 10 miles down tangerine or 5 down ina. it sucked.

also m2c has a point about the population. tucson is a lot like raleigh. sprawling to death quickly. there are all sorts of stupid little towns that all almost run together. almost just like raleigh/wake county.... oro valley (cary), marana (apex), catalina (fuquay), green valley (holly springs), south tucson (DA HOOD)
