and I know I could be if I practiced for a few years. I would never stick with it though I prefer novelty instruments so people can't tell if you're good or not (ukulele, anyone?)

that was the beauty of the bagpipes, we could butcher a song and, invariably, some fat drunk guy in a kilt would come up and tell us how great we did.


it also spoiled mediocre piping for me though I can't listen to a sub-par band or CD without cringing.

when I started playing harmonica, everyone thought I was really good. and harmonica I would consider a pretty normal, non-novelty instrument

harmonica is good for that too, you can turn flubs into improvisation sometimes.
