see i have no problem if you guys dont like bobby or whatever.. but 99.9% of the time you guys bash him and say nothing specific, it's just "you can go by his shitty record", etc

try citing his views on a particular subject that you disagree with. the main reason you guys dont like him is that he's actually trying to get stuff done with his presidency where most the previous SBP stayed under the radar and did nothing. TPC was a big publicity thing, but what did he do that stirred controversy in the area of his political goals (not he was a joke and just liked dressing up)

I thought about making a "GrumpyGOP's Annual Destroy a SG Candidate Thread" about Bobby Mills, but I try to only do that when I have something fairly impressive to put up -- Will Quick's sister's tits, Jon Chichwak in a UNC hat, etc.

Sadly with Bobby the truth is much more mundane. He's just kind of a generic dick. He's proven to have sided with the administration on many issues, including campout tickets, and he's proven to have lied about his support within SG on these issues.

Perhaps most importantly, he's said to another member of Student Government -- and I quote --

"The wolfweb? Those guys aren't really relevant anymore. I think most of their people have graduated."

I'd never heard of Mills before he ran for SBP. I'd heard of Jay Dawkins long before I knew he intended to run for SBP.

And even though I'm now on the SG listserv: Mills sends out VERY few emails, and mostly they're of the 'hey, here's an event' sort. Jay sends out emails of the 'Hey...I'm doing this, and I'd love your help' type.

distant, almost non-existent contact vs transparent, direct involvement...

So there's a reason to vote for Jay over Bobby that has absolutely nothing to with TGD.

And I can't fault Greg's judgment: he counts me as a friend (and GrumpyGOP, recognizing that we're both the type of person people usually say 'man, I don't EVER want to piss you off' about )

Maybe GOP will be able to step up with the details of some specific instances. Also, Greg knows better than to lie to folks about Mills' actions: as SBP, Mills' actions are widely noticed and, in some cases, recorded. He might can show up in this thread to tell of Mills' efforts to disband the Association of Student Governments. I would, but I don't know all the details.

Nah, Bobby has his true believers and there's no sense trying to dissuade them.

They've ignored he appointed a graduating senior and a freshman on a full-ride to the University's committee that decides fee increases -- 2 students who will never have to pay for their bad decisions that forced everyone here to fork over extra $texas every year.

They've ignored he's claimed credit for initiatives other people implemented (John Mickey and Adam Compton with debit cards, Amber Joyner with dead week, Jay Dawkins with ticketing) and misrepresented himself on a constant basis.

They've ignore he tried to have 1,200 tickets for Campout taken away 30 minutes before Campout started -- and got exposed when the entire email chain to University Administration ended up in the hands of Technician, complete with Bobby claiming Zach Adams supported him when he didn't.

They've ignored that while hundreds of students were paying tribute to a murdered UNC student -- allegedly one of Bobby's "friends" -- Bobby was in the Brickyard handing them campaign handbills with his stale fucking tootsie rolls attached.

There's the lies, and the gifts from administrators, and the general incompetence.

And the list goes on.
And on.
And on.

There's actually been a lot of change that's taken place this year, but people who think it's because of Bobby Mills are deluding themselves. And you can't win an argument with someone who's delusional
