i dunno what you call it, but the part where the power cord plugs into my laptop... it's broken?! when the cord is jiggled AT ALL, it switches to battery.
i have NO idea what the problem is... i guess the connection is not clean. i just got a new cord, so that is not the problem.
help. please!

power connector is probably screwed up. what model is the laptop? still under warranty?

Had the same problem on my old ass gateway many many years ago. I'm fairly certain the jack can be replaced..but I doubt you can do it. There's a laptop repair place on Hillsboro that could probably tell you more. I doubt you'll be doing this yourself.

i KNOW i wont be doing it myself; i dont know shit about computers!!! just wondering if any of you guys do that sort of work/thing whatever.

It depends how it's attached. I'm looking in the service manual for it and can't seem to find anything. I have an hp and the power connector board has a plug so it can be easily replaced if that's the only thing wrong.

hmm...looks like it's soldered on and costs about $40-$50 for just the dc jack.

^^ that is correct. so, best bet is to take it to that place on hillsborough? is that PC fly?

You probably want one of these:

I'd send your laptop off to them to have them solder it in place, IF this is what you need. Here's their page explaining how that all works:
