Tonight there are 5 games. Colorado vs Los Angeles is on FSC at 9:30. Hopefully both of these teams can have a better season. It would be great if Mastroeni could win an MLS Cup before he retires someday. I also would like to see LA do better since so many big names (Beckham, Ruiz, Donovan) are on their roster. This league needs a team for bandwagon fans, so that it can continue to grow.

It's not the best graphics, but I have bought the online PPV package the past 2 years. It's only $20. It's kinda nice to have. I use it to watch Colorado play when I can. They don't show the FSC, Telefutura, or HDNET game of the week though.

WOW! The new stage in the north end of Crew Stadium has a huge over hang. It looks kinda like a European Soccer stadium

Except for you know, the whole stage in a soccer stadium thing, but close enough.

Anyways, this thread is going to struggle badly (and this is coming from a MLS/USL supporter)

LMAO! Colorado 4 LA 0! The sad part is Colorado wasn't playing their first team because of injury. The LA back line is swiss cheese.

Anyone else watching the LA game? Beckham has 2 goals and they came back from 2 down to tie it at 2-2 at the half. THey have no back line. They would be good if they would have bought some defenders instead of Carlos Ruiz.

You're right about the defense but tied for first in the Western Conference isn't too bad considering how they were last year and how they were in the preseason.

Two great goals from Becks, by the way... he also had quite a few good crosses in the 2nd half I watched

Blanco's goal was nice... it's funny how much I hated him when he played for Mexico, but I really like watching him with the Fire, great DP

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Uwp9vsi-vU -- 2:45 is Blanco's goal

and yes, DC United look miserable

Well it wasn't a 5 to 4 game this year, but NY got the best of LA again thanks to Angel. Beckham had a bad game. He botched 2 crosses off corner kicks. That's not like him.

NY 2 LA 1

This will make the US Open Cup Interesting. CONCACAF is going to have its own Champions League just like Asia and Europe. The USOC champion will get an invite. In theory the Carolina Railhawks could win the USOC and have to host Club America from Mexico. WOW!

wow what an entertaining game

LA Galaxy 3 - KC 1 on HDNET

galaxy owned the 2nd half and beckham showing his class hitting i think every pass he made from 5 yds to 60 yds away...edson buddle was playing lights out and this team is fun to watch offensively, beckham is clearly having an effect on a lot of these no name players, plus carlos ruiz is back for them

oh and btw, beckham scored a 70 yard goal at the end of the game as KC's keeper came up to try to score on a kc corner in the last minute of stoppage time

That was a pretty sweet goal. It didn't really take that much effort from Beckham, but it was still nice as hell to watch.

That was pretty cool. You can watch the highlights of every MLS game at http://www.mlsnet.com if you click on video next to box score. Now LA is first in the west and Chicago is first in the east.

LA just beat Colorado 3-2 to take the lead in the west. For a while this year I thought the Galaxy was going to suck, but they aren't doing so bad right now.

you can never have enough good forwards

we don't want Altidore to get the same attitude Johnson has -- he knows Bradley thinks he's the only option so he doesn't even have to work to make the roster

back to MLS -- that was a freaking red card, Kevin Stott is a fuckface

^The only problem is they still haven't learned how to play defense. They had a late 3-2 lead on Columbus last week and ended up tying at 3-3.

As for the WNBA, couldn't they have put that on ESPN Classic like they did with tennis when the Euro's started? That is 2 years in a row that a triple OT WNBA basketball game has caused MLS fans to miss the first half of a soccer game. Does anyone really watch the WNBA? It can't be any better than MLS when it comes to rating right?

I don't think there's much difference

Quote :
"Through 25 games on ESPN2 last year, MLS delivered a 0.2 cable rating and 229,000 households. The league’s performance on television is more on par with the WNBA"

I can't imagine lower ratings than that.

^I know MLS ratings suck, but was anyone really watching the rerun of the boxing match from 2003 on ESPN Classic? They could have put MLS, or the WNBA on there.

I hate it when this shit happens. The worst was back in 2001 when NC State was playing basketball against #9 Syracuse and the game tipped off on ESPN with 12 minutes left in the BYU vs Hawaii football game. Hawaii was up like 56-10, or something like that and BYU kept throwing the football and stopping the clock. With about 5 minutes to go in the first half of the basketball game they finally switched over and realized BYU wasn't going to win.

DC 4 LA 1

LA once again showed their weakness today. They won't win any trophies this year because they have no defense. Last week was no better. They blew a late lead vs Columbus and tied at 3-3.

^3 ESPN's policy is typically to follow a game until it ends unless the 2nd game is massively more important than the first

there are better midfielders in MLS than him not from the US -- some Mexican named Blanco and some other Englishman who I can't think of his name right now

not to mention Shalrie Joseph, also not American, is a way better holding midfielder than Mastro
