I can't stand the kids in ANY generation that sound like these losers.

Quote :
"

Six months ago, I moved to Washington, D.C., and was lucky enough to land a well-paying job with great career prospects as an assistant at a law firm. The problem is that one of the partners I assist is particularly challenging. She's intelligent and distinguished, but she is also a perfectionist. She's an extremely daunting supervisor—especially for a legal neophyte and nonperfectionist like me. I'm functioning in high gear all day long, but I struggle to keep up. What's worse is that she is heavy on the criticism and light on the positive reinforcement.

I have been paying my school loans back on my own since I graduated, but I'm not able to save much month-to-month. My parents are divorced and somewhat low-income...But I really feel that they should offer to assist with these loans. Am I wrong? If not, how do I ask my parents to help?"

Is anyone else fed up with whiny losers like the kids in the article, or am I the only one that encounters them on a daily basis?

one of the things i like most about my job is the group of people i work with

shitstains like that are few and far between, and they aren't well tolerated.

I don't understand. Why should others pay for your education. Unless you have some super outstanding circumstance, or seek out funding (grants, scholarships, etc) there is no reason to ask your parents to support you once you have landed on your feet. They have already carried you this far, what more do you need?

Fuck that, you shouldn't be generously praised for merely meeting your jobs requirements.

And hell if I would praise someone who can't get shit right like the first chick. I'd rather do something myself than have someone else do it just to fuck it up.

the criticism / positive reinforcement has been shown to produce good results. happy workers = productive workers.

however i agree with everything else.

I have a friend like the second example. She bitches that her dad wants her to pay her own cell phone bill once she gets a job.

What's the big deal?

Most supervisors are unpleasant.

People have been complaining about them for ages.

It's not a new phenomenon.

just because it's tradition doesn't make it a good thing.

omg, the conservative says that to a liberal who thinks the bourgeois supervisors are rightful to put their proletariat staff members through hell.

both of my immediate supervisors are VERY nice to me... to the point where its like WTF. always asking about my family, calling them by name when speaking about them and everything. very very nice and understanding about any time off.

i really think they've been trained lately to do stuff like that, learn the names of the people important to their employees...

and i guess they're nice about giving time off cause they know the people might quit. it can be a tough job. i saw 4 different people come through the next office over within 2 months.... and i KNOW they spent a lot on employing, training and losing those people. they actually ended up transferring someone over who had been with the company for a few months, because they were so scared someone else would quit.

and in turn, that really grinds on the person who trains. and they really dont wanna lose that person.

when you have quality workers, you will do a lot to keep them

It's not the bitching that bothers me

It's the type of person these individuals are that bothers me

people requiring more praise and support from their coworkers and superiors is probably a natural consequence of the shrinking family size after the baby boom generation.

just a thought.

I thought this was pretty funny:

Dear Prudie,
I recently had breast-enhancement surgery, and there is a noticeable difference. My question is, How do I respond when people make remarks about it? I know that it is an obvious change, and people do notice, but it is not as if I'm flaunting it in revealing tops. How do I respond when someone says, "Wow, you got a boob job!" I find it very rude when mere acquaintances make such comments, as I would not comment if they got dentures!

—Newly Enhanced

Dear Newly,
There's a Bible verse for every situation, and Psalms 23.5 seems appropriate here. But what a bunch of jugheads your acquaintances are if they feel the need to keep abreast of your personal developments. Don't get into a tit for tat with them. Just turn away as you say, "Ta ta."

People complain about the boss sometimes not because he's unpleasant, but because he's, well, the boss.

At any rate, not taking any shit and having high expectations don't necessarily equate to being unpleasant.

they're just unpleasant if you suck.

These people are clearly wusses who

1. Are unable to do their job correctly
2. Think other people owe them an education

Who are you to call other people wusses?

Basically every time you post on here its crying about having a nervous breakdown from schoolwork or being hungry with no money.

You're like an emotionally fragile hobo

I'm actually capable of doing my work correctly and don't think other people should have to pay for my shit

Which puts me way ahead of these losers IMO

I don't go ask for help regarding my work or food situation, so I'm not a wuss. I can take care of myself unlike those losers.
