For the lazy ones, it was basically a worldwide initiative to disconnect your inessential electronic devices for an hour starting at 8pm local time last nite.

I thought it was yesterday.

And what I've heard is:
When done for just an hour, the electric companies still have to keep the spinning reserve running, and being that we're not even talking about peak demand hour, it's debatable weather this does anything at all.

I don't think the idea was that it would actually have some sort of impact; just an awareness thing to get people talking and get press and whatnot.
