I have a 40gb apple tv, used for about 40min. I made a patch stick and unlocked it so now it has SSH enabled. You can connect to it with winscp or any *nix machine and put whatever you want on it. It can easily be restored to factory defaults if you like. Now it functions much like an xbox with xbmc, only more powerful. The one problem with it, and the reason I'm selling it, is it will not play MKV wrapped HD rips. It DOES have more horsepower than the xbox to play anything the xbox can play as well as AVI and WMV wrapped HD rips.
Comes with everything from the box remote cds (I don't even know what they are, didn't look at them) unit power cable
The unit does NOT come with any AV cabling from the factory and I will not be including any, but monoprice.com has great deals.
Very small, quiet, and very low wife/gf aggro generation

it can play some, I think it depends on how it's encoded. I've had luck with some 720p rips, never had any luck with 1080p though.
it's a 1ghz pentium-M 1mb l2 400mhz fsb, geforce 7400go 64mb (or 32?), and 256mb of ram running a stripped osx install. 3/30/2008 12:42:34 PM |
