This is an awesome online football game.

Sign up and create a player. You can create one to three players on an account at any position. Once a player is created you assign skill points for your player.

When completed, you get contract offers from different teams in different leagues. Some teams are human controlled and you can interact with owners, negotiate contracts and such. You can eventually buy a cpu team and control all aspects of a team yourself.

As a player you sign a contract, can be picked up by better teams or traded to other teams. Once on a teams depth chart, you train, practice and play simulated games and accrue more skill and experience points to further your attributes and career.

Pretty neat idea and game. Check it out.

-Not sure if this belongs in Entertainment. It will probably get more interest in here.-

These games are really fun. The free basketball sim from drivethelane.com is great.

^,^^, then don't sign up.

It's something that you can get as involved with as you want. You can spend as much time with it as you want. You don't have to spend money unless you want to.

Some will thoroughly enjoy it, some will think it's gay. I didn't make this thread for dipshit comments though.

^^^If you get a referral you get flex points which you can use toward experience points to build your skills or eventually "buying" a team. You also gain experience points by training and playing in games.

It's basically a pay to play game. You can get flex points from referals but the main way to get the needed flex points for the games to be fun is to pay for them. The game will be incredibly lame for anyone who doesn't pay for them.

^Not necessarily. If you have a good strategy of dividing up your skill points, you can do well in games and gain more experience points and skill points. Skill points can also be gained by training which happens once a day. Once you gain 1000 experience points you also get more skill points. I think I read where you can gain a couple hundred exp. points per game if you're a starter, so its not that hard to improve.

Flex points can be used to purchase computer teams but also to gain 1000 experience points immediately. The higher level player you become the harder it is to gain experience points so it might be best to save flex points for later in your career.

You didn't read the part that says you have to have flex points to level up either, did you? Then if you ever want to own your own team it's 1000 points for 2 seasons. Seeing as you can only get 855 max per season from referrals I find it hard to believe the game would be any fun at all without buying them.

You start with 0/1000 experience points. You gain exp. points by training and playing games. Once you reach 1000/1000 you level up. No flex points required.

Read again. It takes the same number of flex points to level your guy up as it takes to create him.

Yeah if you want level up immediately you can use flex points. You can also do it with experience points but it will take a few days of playing games and training.

this is pretty neat. nice way to pass time at work while waiting on machines to do their stuff. Darren Sanderson is kicking ass, but the coach doesn't realize what talent he possesses, riding as the 4th CB. I made a kicker last night, but no one seems to want him.

A new season is about to start up this weekend. It's a good time to get in on this game. Over 1000 new teams have been created so there are places to sign and play.

I joined up with another forum and I'm their starting left tackle.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=46865

We picked a team that had 0 wins halfway through the season and managed to turn it around so I'm really looking forward to the next season.

The offseason is approaching. There are only a few more rounds of the playoffs left. Just thought I'd bttt it before a new season started this time.

Now is a good time to signup and find a spot on a team. There are now development teams so it is a lot easier to get a spot and find playing time.

^Lemme on your team http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=346849 lawl

My contract has a no trades thing so that probably wouldn't turn out so well. When I graduated from the developmental leagues I got like 3 team offers and the team I went with looked the most stable, but they also went like 4-pwnt for the season.

the contract offers will say 0, but click it anyway. there should be 3 in there. make sure you get on a team with the least qbs. you will develop faster and once your around an 8-10 a human team will more than likely pick you up. another option is going to the "player looking for a team" forum and shopping yourself to owners.

If you are really hard up, we can sign you on as a 3rd QB. The guy we have now only gets XP from playing on special teams, but he has levelled a few times this season. Supposedly they are adding injuries at some point, thats why we keep 3(that and I accidentally signed 3 to start out with)

Isn't there some version of this for baseball?

And what do I do after joining a CPU team?

^for baseball, see Out of the Park: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/
you have to purchase it (2009 out soon costs 24.99 pre-order), but it's far and away worth it. it doesn't have the individual aspect that GLB does, but it's crazy deep as far as team management is concerned. online leagues are everywhere, and well run leagues are addicting.

^^^^ not really. Im doing quite well, having a lot of fun and I havent bothered to refer anyone really. I got one friend who just happened to ask what I was doing and was interested and signed up, but besides that I've done nothing but put a few minutes a day (<10) into playing the game and having fun.

^^^ right now you just need to choose how you want to train. its the end of the playoffs and beginning of the offseason (which will last about 4 days or so). then when the season starts back you will start to play games and earn more XP.

so how is everyone doing?

right now, i'm on a good team (3-1 with a couple of blowouts). our only loss was to an excellent team. however, there is some unrest in our clubhouse and about 7 guys have asked for trades. our owner cut a player, who happened to be owned by a guy who has 3 other players on the team. needless to say this peeved that guy, and now he wants ALL his guys traded to keep them together. another guy who is friends with this guy now wants out. to add onto that, someone else doesn't like the drama, so now THEY want out (with 2 players), same thing with another guy. all told, we have 6 offensive players (all level 10 or higher) wanting out, 3 of which are starters, and one defensive guy (2 WR, C, OT, G, FB, and DT). ugh. people's egos are ridiculous sometimes.

is anyone in search of a team? it goes without saying, we may need some help soon.

what level are you? the owner is granting trades to all unhappy people, provided that player is within 1 level of the new guy. if that FB leaves, we'll have a lvl 12 or 13 FB left on the team who is pretty decent. the owner has given alot of plays to nonstarters though...

Adonis Luxembourg, level 17 cornerback for Da NOLA Brah!!! K&B Purples (USA A #8). I'd bitch about being my team's 3rd corner, but we're railroading teams this season. I also have a level 6 cornerback playing for the Queensland Flash (SE Asia #4)

Level 19 Kicker, Jeremiah Jones, on Oceania AA Tasmania Devils.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=94221

Level 20 DE, Creylen Turlough, on Western Europe Pro Copenhagen Dragons. We finished 2nd in our AAA conference last year during the regular season, then won the conference in the playoffs, but lost in the championship game. Pretty rocky start to our first year in the Pro League but we won't get relegated, 2-2 so far.
