Work ethic? This team worked their asses off to even get into a position to contend for it at the end. Injuries should never be an excuse, but they figure in here. We didnt lose our key guys due to shitty managemnt, we lost them because of torn ligaments and broken bones. I guess you didnt watch many canes games though, so you wouldnt understand that. 377 man games lost, lost our captain, top line RW, key PK/energy man, among many other things. Our team, composed at times with up to 6-7 AHL call-ups still managed to finish better than your bag of shit team.

You couldnt wait though, could you? You didn't have shit to say all season because your shitty team from your shitty city wasnt worth a fuck. I'm glad this makes you feel better.

Don't whine about injuries when the only reason the Hurricanes have their ring is because Buffalo had no healthy defensemen by the end of the Hurricanes/Sabres series.

The Canes have a ring because our team whooped ass all reg season, beat Montreal, NJ, Buffalo, and Edmonton. Buffalo did not complete the playoffs successfully.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Buffalo won the President's trophy last year for the best team in the regular season. Then you went this year and couldn't even make the playoffs. The last team to do that was the Rangers back in the early 90's. But you're right, our not making the playoffs was the bigger disappointment

I think it's safe to say that the Hurricanes more than benefitted their fair share due to injuries during that playoff run. Buffalo with no defensemen and then Edmonton without their starting goalie.

Fun fact, if I remember correctly the last two teams to win the President's Trophy, then miss the playoffs the next year, actually went on to win the Stanley Cup the following year.

I am just saying that this team far exceeded expectations given our injuries. Buffalo did a good job in the playoffs despite their injuries. I did not expect to make the playoffs this year once Brind'Amour went down, but we sucked it up and played hard and almost slipped in.

Buffalo sure used their injuries as an excuse, why is it off-limits here?

Personally, I don't think injuries should be an excuse for any team. It's part of the game, everyone suffers them. Some may be more devastating then others but you just have to overcome them and continue to play your game.

I think if anything the Canes should be commended on how well they played with the number of man games lost. Not using it as an excuse, but to show just how well they responded to them. They may have come up short in the end, but they did exactly what a team must after suffering the number of injuries they did: continue to play solid hockey, which overall I believe they did.

I can't say I support this thread, but the way all my favorite teams did this past season ('season' being august - april, I despise baseball), I feel like a buffalo fan. All kinds of chokejobs, inflated expectations, and a general lack of winning.

I'm going to go back to my childhood favorites, the Boston Celtics, mainly for something to do. Because they are green.
