Server
submitted by nael on Friday, April 4 at 5:24 PM
As I'm sure you all noticed that the site was down today. This was cause by server failure. As a result, we have spent the day setting up a new server. Unfortunately, the most recent backup of the database occurred on April 1st, so some posts will be missing.
We also haven't been able to transfer the pictures yet, due to the sheer size of the folder (31 gigabytes of pictures).
Thanks

Hell, the UNC chancellors and presidents are complaining that they still don't make enough!
UNC leaders get hefty raises Most top administrators get raises of $10,000 to more than $50,000 as the UNC system pushes to make salaries competitive
Quote : | "N.C. State Chancellor James Oblinger and UNC-Chapel Hill Chancellor James Moeser got the largest boosts -- 15.7 percent, or $53,035 each.
University employees received 4 percent raises from the legislature this year. Average increases for faculty were 5 percent.
UNC President Erskine Bowles got a 9 percent raise Friday. Dr. Bill Roper, chief executive of the UNC Health Care System, will make $690,000 -- a 7.2 percent increase over last year.
Four newly hired chancellors did not receive increases, and raises for the rest ranged from 3 percent to 13 percent." |

Peer chancellors paid more
Quote : | "Not only does it take a lot of money to run a university, but it also takes quite a bit to get someone to run it.
For UNC it most likely will take a lot more in the future.
As university leaders' salaries have increased around the country, Chancellor James Moeser's salary, recently raised to $390,835, is only slightly more than half of some of his peers' at other public institutions.
That's what UNC will have to grapple with as it searches for its next chancellor, whom University officials hope to select before July." |

They need to pay deserving staff more--I know that some of you may not realize this, but the staff actually run the university. If the faculty had to run it, the fucking place would shut down in a week.4/28/2008 3:00:36 AM |
