where do you go to get your hair cut....


I am in desperate need of something new to do with my hair...

I want to keep it short and I don't mind straightening it daily....

i just have to be careful about the cut since my hair is so wavy...

Don't do what I did....I now have helmet hair.


I wanted short hair and got it cut on a whim, went to a cheap place figuring I could talk to the chick cutting my hair...it turns out it was a dude cutting my hair...and not like a gay guy who looks like he would know about hair. This guy looked like he could have been a taxidriver or a plumbing specialist at the Home Depot. So he cut it pretty much straight with no style or anything...and it sucks.

ok...i've been trying to come up with some ideas for a hair style...

here are a few things to keep in mind:

1) I am a VERY dark brunette and I'm not changing the color of my hair
2) I am a fairly oval face
3) My hair is very fine, BUT grows very thick, so any cut will have to be for thick hair
4) I don't have shirley temple curls...but I do have very wavy (at times curly) hair
5) My hair can be straightened for the most part but it will not be stick straight
5) I got 16" of hair cut off recently and I'm looking to maintain a short cut for a while

This is pretty much what my hair looks like now...


This is sorta what it can look like for a little while if I try hard to do something with it...


This was the haircut I was supposed to get when I first donated by hair but it didn't turn out anything remotely similar...because she has thin hair...


I am a fan of styles similar to these...




If I want to try something funky I could go for these...

it sounds like you and i have similar hair. i have thin strands of hair, but a ton of it and it can go from wavy to down right curly if i dont blow-dry it depending on the humidity.

i think the biggest thing that you are going to want to have done is for the stylist to use a razor to thin out your hair (which is completely different from layering or texturizing the ends). the stylist uses the razor closer to your head and basically takes out longer strands and thins out your hair (and the overall volume).

if the stylist does not know exactly what you are talking about when you ask for this, then you immediately get out of the chair, put down $5 and leave
