Does anyone know of a place that that has courses or training on how to install hardwood floors? I've checked around and can't find anything. (Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hardware and Wake Tech don't) 4/9/2008 6:50:53 PM |

Go work for a construction company for a few weeks. They'll pay you to learn. All you really have to do is be able to speak English, understand instructions when they're given, and show up on time sober. 4/9/2008 9:52:00 PM |

Lowes offers a course like every saturday or so for their employees....if you are planning on doing it yourself, i hope you have some experience, not to mention some money....
depending if you are wanting to lay hardwoon on slab, not so bad, because its glue down with that, all you would need is a table saw, jig saw perhaps, and a jam saw to cut the wood...now on sub floor it is a different ball game, you would need a compressor, finish nailer, hardwood nailer (~$500), plus a table saw, jig saw, jam saw, molding lifter/jack.....there are a lot of hidden expenses when laying hardwood, its cheaper in the long run to do it yourself, because the tools can pay for themeselves, but a lot of hard work and headache 4/11/2008 11:47:01 PM |
